Our Services

Based on meeting the community's most urgent and critical healthcare needs, the Breath of Life Children’s Center clinic provides a range of services to children of low-income, uninsured and underinsured families. Children are referred to the clinic by area hospitals and medical groups, schools and churches, as well as, publicly funded healthcare facilities in which families do not meet the current eligibility criteria.

Visits are made by appointment with triage screening for acute illnesses.  The Breath of Life Services are broken down into two categories:  Prevention and Acute Sick Care Services. .

Prevention Services offer a comprehensive program for children and adolescents in the Harris, Ft. Bend and Waller counties. Additional educational services focus on helping young mothers understand the prevention of childhood diseases and the importance of child development.

Services include:

   • Immunizations and routine care

   • Parental education

   • An annual “Back to School Immunization Drive”

Acute Sick Care Services provides treatment for children who are ill due to ear infections, nosebleeds, ashma, high fevers, and all other childhood related illnesses. Medication for routine treatments is supplied to the children when available and procedures performed on site when feasible. Christus St. Catherine Hospital has partnered with the Children’s Center to provide ancillary services such as lab and x-rays when needed.  Higher-level services are accessed and referred through the various county health systems.  Trauma treatment and support is assessed and made available through similar mechanisms.
